About : 

• In the last decade or two the poaching and destruction of habitat has reduced the tiger population in Nepal to less than 200 individuals. Now they are mainly concentrated in the Royal Chitwan National Park, the Royal Sukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve and the Royal Karnali (Bardia) Wildlife Reserve.
• The swamp deer, as the name suggests, lives on swampy open grasslands. About 1000 of these splendid deer are found in the Royal Sukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve, in Kanchanpur district of Nepal.
• Though distributed throughout the Nepalese Himalayas in temperate forests above 5000 ft. red pandas are mainly concentrated in the Mt. Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park, the Langtang National Park and the Lake Rara National Park.
• Under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act (2029), these three animals are fully protected in the Kingdom of Nepal.
