• From its modest beginnings in 1945 as a steel trading firm, the Mahindra Group today is one of the largest and most admired multinational federation of companies with 260,000 employees in over 100 countries. • Mahindra Hariyali is the Group’s tree plantation program through which the Group has planted 19 million trees, of which over 12 million trees have been planted in Andhra Pradesh’s Araku valley. By strategically planting 19 varieties of trees, the Mahindra Project Hariyali has been able to impact livelihoods of more than 25000 tribal marginalized farmer families in Araku and provide them with nutritional & economic security. It has also brought benefits of biodiversity to the degraded land. The project is designed for the trees to be owned and nurtured by the tribal farmers, which has resulted in an impressive survival rate of over 93%. While the group has been planting 1 million trees every year for the past 14 years, they are now gearing ourselves to plant 5 million trees every year by 2026.
• During the pandemic the Group took a series of steps to support communities. These included using engineering capabilities to manufacture PPE kits, aerosol boxes, face masks, shields, and sanitizers – all needed to help local officials and health care workers to combat the pandemic. Recognizing that there is a huge segment of the most vulnerable within our ecosystem, they set up a Covid-19 Relief Fund. They included providing meals, transport, food packets, rations and even tractors for harvesting. The Group worked closely with governments and local authorities to provide oxygen concentrators, set up oxygen plants, enable last mile delivery of oxygen and build isolation centers.
• Mahindra now reaches a momentous milestone of 75 years in its glorious journey of contributing to the nation’s progress and growth with a clear focus on ESG. To celebrate this significant landmark, a commemorative stamp has been conceived – with a design that attempts to capture the scale and diversity of the Group, its journey, and the myriad ways in which it has touched the lives of people and helping them Rise. The design is inspired by miniature paintings and art and uses a modern graphical style to illustrate the various facets of the Group. A closer look at the stamp reveals the various business and life centric activities of the Group. And while the stamp is a celebration of this defining moment in Mahindra’s history, to us it is a reminder of the core values that the Group stands for and that we will continue to build the future upon.

About : 

• Dattopant Thengadi was born on 10^th November, 1920 on the day of Diwali in Arvi Nagar, Wardha district, Maharashtra. His full name was Dattatreya Bapurao Thengadi but he became famous by the name of Dattopant. His father Bapurao Dajiba Thengadi was an eminent advocate. Dattopant Thengadi had his early education in Arvi Nagar.
• In the year 1931-32, while the freedom movement was going on under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Dattopant Thengadi was a student of class VI & VII and at this early age, he had started sharing his organizing skills. He had formed the Vanar Sena, Jhuggi Jhopdi Mandal and the Arvi Vidyarthi Sangh and participated in the movement.
• Dattopant took advanced education in Nagpur and after earning the L.L.B. degree, he decided to be a pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh and remained engaged in social service for his lifetime. After serving as a Pracharak in Kerala from 1942 to 1944 and then in Bengal till 1948, he came back to Nagpur where he was instrumental in the establishment of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in 1949. He was the Sangathan Mantri of Bharatiya Jana Sangh of Madhya Pradesh in 1951-53 and Dakshinanchal in 1956-57. He served as the Sangathan Mantri of Madhya Pradesh INTUC Labour Union in 1950-51 which enriched his experience of the labour sector.
• Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh was founded by him on 23^rd July, 1955. The aim of its establishment was to set up a labour organization that would work in the interest of the nation, industry and workers on the principle ‘of the workers, by the workers and for the workers’. The organization is considered as the largest labour organization in the country today.
• Dattopant Thengadi was an organizer and philosopher. He was a litterateur and accomplished author who wrote more than one hundred books and prologues of books. His book ‘Sanket Rekha’ and ‘Third Way’ (third option) books were discussed all over the world. He used to deliver meaningful lectures on literature, culture, history, science, politics, contemporary global activities, economic and social subjects. He had a keen grasp of Marathi, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada and English languages.
• He established ‘Bharatiya Kisan Sangh’ on 4^th March, 1979. He also established ‘Swadeshi Jagran Manch’, ‘Samajik Samrasta Manch’ and ‘Sarvapanth Samadar Manch’ on 22^nd November, 1991, 14^th April, 1983 and 14^th April, 1991 respectively. He played a crucial role in the establishment of the Environment Forum and organizations such as All India Advocates Council, Sahkar Bharti, Pragya Bharti and All India Consumer Panchayat.
• He served as a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from 1964 to 1976. He breathed his last on 14^th October, 2004 at Pune.

• Bilateral relations between India and Germany are founded on shared democratic principles and are marked by a high degree of trust and mutual respect. With common interest in maintaining a rule-based international order, the two democracies are close strategic partners, maintaining continuous exchange of ideas through more than thirty consultations and dialogue forums.
• The year 2021 signifies an important milestone for the India–Germany relationship as it marks the 70^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. India was among the first countries to recognize the Federal Republic of Germany, as soon as the First Instrument of Revision of the Occupation Statute for Germany was issued on March 6, 1951, allowing Germany to conduct foreign relations, an announcement was made the next day, March 7, 1951, about the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Federal Republic of Germany.
• From the beginning, science and technology has been a key source of common interest for the countries. Germany played a crucial role in the establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1959 – a trailblazer in cutting-edge science and engineering education. The visit of Dr. Heinrich Lubke, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, to India in 1962 marked the beginning of the Indo-German Technical Assistance Program. This collaboration in the field of science, research and technology marked the beginning of a long and fruitful journey which has yielded significant results and contributed immensely to the scientific and economic successes of the two nations.
• India and Germany have a long tradition of academic and cultural exchange. Max Mueller was the first scholar of Indo-European languages to translate and publish the Upanishads and the Rigveda. German interest in Indian philosophy and languages had resulted in the setting up of the first Chair of Indology at the University of Bonn in 1818. As a result of this strong tradition of academic and cultural exchange, there has been growing interest in Germany in ancient as well as modern Indian art forms, such as dance, music and literature, motion picture and TV industry.
• As India liberalised its economy in the last decade of the 20^th century, the India–Germany economic partnership emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries. Trade and investment relations rapidly picked up and by the turn of the millennium, it was clear that the new intensity in bilateral relations had to be recognised and nurtured. On 18 May 2000, India and Germany signed the ‘Agenda for the Indo-German alliance in the 21^st century’ which laid the foundation for a higher order of bilateral cooperation in a rapidly changing global era.
• Relations between the two countries received a fresh impulse when India and Germany entered into a ‘Strategic Partnership’ in 2001. The increased momentum in bilateral relations during the first decade of the 21^st century culminated in the institutionalisation of the Intergovernmental Consultations (IGC), held since 2011 every two years at the level of Heads of Government. The IGC is a whole-of-government dialogue format which allows for a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and identification of fresh areas of engagement.
• Stepping into its 20^th year in 2021, the India–Germany Strategic Partnerships strengthened by expanding economic relations and growing people-to-people contacts. Building on the robust foundation, strong mechanisms of cooperation have been established across a diverse range of sectors – in economic, science and technology, defence, strategic and cultural spheres. In recent years, the relationship has gained immensely from the personal attention and close engagement between our leaders at the highest levels. The multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries stretches across multilateral issues, including climate change and reform of the UN Security Council. Both the countries remain committed to working together to defeat terrorism, ensure freedom of navigation and rule of law, achieve sustainable development and have a fair system of global trade.
• The bilateral relationship has reached a level of maturity with the completion of 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations. Marking the 70^th anniversary on March 7, 2021, the Foreign Ministers of India and Germany delivered special messages conveying felicitations and good wishes to the people of both countries and calling for further intensification of partnership based on the robust foundation of the last 70 years.
• As the world grapples with the disruption brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the India–Germany strategic partnership is poised to play a crucial role in creating and supporting global capacities to face complex challenges. Cooperation between the two countries would go a long way in ensuring that the post-pandemic global order is peaceful, development-oriented, human centric and sustainable.

• Bangladesh and China enjoy excellent bilateral relations. China has been and continues to be a traditional, time-tested and all-weather friend and a dependable partner in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. Though the two countries established formal diplomatic relations in 1975, the foundation of the relationship between the two countries dates back to more than two thousand years of history substantiated by the exchange of visits by traders, travelers and scholars. Visits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the 50s significantly contributed to this historic journey of friendship. Official visits to China by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in March 2010 and in June 2014 and by the Hon’ble President in November 2014 were milestones in the relationship between the two countries. Visits by the Vice President of China in 2010 and by the Vice Premier of the State Council of China in May 2015 to Bangladesh were highly significant in solidifying the bonds further.
• The signing of the agreement of “Closer Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation” during the official visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to China in 2010 laid out the road-map ahead. Areas for cooperation now include among others trade, investment, infrastructure development, agriculture, education and culture, science and technology.

• The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru conceived and set up major art and cultural agencies to rejuvenate and formulate the diverse Indian cultural practices and promote them to play a comprehensive role in the making of the nation. The main thrust of these organizations was artistic excellence. Lalit Kala Akademi, the National Academy of Art, New Delhi was one such organisation. It emerged as the principal establishment in the field of visual arts.
• The former Union Minister for Education, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, inaugurated the Akademi on August 5, 1954. In his inaugural speech, he stated that, “the objective of Lalit Kala Akademi is to preserve the glorious traditions of the past and enrich them by the work of our modern artists. It must also seek to improve standards and refine public taste“.
• The Akademi is an autonomous body, which is fully funded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. It has substantial independence in formulating decisions related to national and international exhibitions, events and providing financial assistance to artists and art organizations through scholarships and grants.
• Lalit Kala Akademi manifests a commitment to the service of arts by establishing, preserving and documenting art of the highest order that reflects the vitality, complexity and unfolding patterns of modern and contemporary art in India. It sustains a library, art collection, archives, conservation laboratory and gives scholarships and brings out publications of pre-eminent intellectual merit.
• Pivotal to the Lalit Kala’s mission is the encouragement of an ever-deeper understanding and enjoyment of modern and contemporary art by the diverse local, national and international audience.
• While providing further opportunities for emerging artists, the Akademi attempts to foster appreciation of arts and engagement of the audience to associate with art and culture. The Akademi strongly focuses on shaping a future India in which the arts play a meaningful role in everyday life. • Harakh Chand Nahata was born on 18^th July, 1936 at Bikaner (Rajasthan) in an illustrious family. His father Shri Bhairudan Nahata was a businessman and soft natured social worker and his mother Durgadevi was a religious woman.
  
• After completing his schooling at Bikaner and during college years in Calcutta, Nahata started his business career. A visionary entrepreneur, who wanted to tread uncharted path, he was the first person, who started road transportation in the difficult and inhospitable terrain of Tripura, Handling the largest Railway Out Agency in Tripura (Tripura Town Out Agency) and establishing a large network of road transport at his own heavy costs and risks, he was instrumental in starting economic development and two way traffic to bring economic gains for the local tribal people and the state of Tripura.
  
• He contributed a lot for the development of cinema in Eastern India through his Technicians Studio, Calcutta, with which many internationally acclaimed directors like Satyajit Ray, Hritwik Ghatak and Basu Bhattacharya etc. were associated. Later, he turned film financier and Realtor and was known as an honest and upright person in trade circles. For his multi-faceted contributions to the trade and industry, he was honoured with awards by the Vice President of India and Lt. Governor of Delhi.
  
• He was a leading social leader and philanthropist, who steadfastly stood and fought for human dignity, equality and respect. Associated with more than 60 socio-religious organisations and Trusts like Heart Care Foundation of India, Prakrit Bharati Academy, Rishabhdev Foundation, Mimjhar, Veerayatan, Rajasthan Bharati, Ahimsa International, Jain Mahasabha, Bharat Jain Mahamandal, Vishwa Jain Parishad and many others in different capacities, he relentlessly endeavoured to attain their cherished goals. From 1990 onwards, he was the President of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Shree Jain Shwetamber Khartargachha Mahasangh‘ – the apex national representative body of thousands of Jains of this sect. As President, he relentlessly fought to safeguard against many injustices and attacks on the rights, dignity and conventions of the Samaj.
  
• Harakh Chand Nahata encouraged many upcoming artists of films and performing arts with his sanguine advice, help and patronage. He was a great connoisseur of art and literature and helped many budding artists, poets and writers. He spotted talents of writers and published many books including a Hindi monthly magazine at his own cost to encourage them. He was a voracious reader with a sharp analytical mind and compassioned heart. He wrote many write-ups on different subjects and was an orator par excellence, who kept the audience spellbound with his thought-provoking dissertations and mastery over the chosen subject.
  
• Though a Jain by birth, he was an embodiment of ‘Sarv Dharma Sambhav‘. Regardless of caste, creed or religion, he respected each and every faith and contributed to various temples and places of worship without any distinction. He was a firm believer that religion is and should be binding force and not a divisive force.
  
• He considered integrity and security of the Nation above religion and culture and stressing this, he used to say that only if the nation is secure, only then religion and culture would be secure.
  
• Compassion, tolerance, equality, dignity and love should be the guiding and contributing spirit in religious affairs and to this end he steadfastly worked at various levels and at different forums.
  
• Living a full and contented life, he breathed his last on 21^st February, 1999 at New Delhi after a brief illness.

• Maharashtra Police Academy was established in 1906. It began as a Police Training School at Pune and was shifted to its present location at Nasik in around 1909. After bifurcation of old Bombay State into Maharashtra & Gujarat states in 1960, the Police Training School was renamed as Police Training College. It was upgraded to the present status i.e. Maharashtra Police Academy, Nasik in the year 1990.
• The Academy is located on a 267 acre campus at Nashik on Nashik Trimbak Road. The Academy has three buildings of old European architecture, which came in to existence at the time it was shifted from Pune 1908. The Academy has a modern small arms firing range and a multi channel Fire Arms Training Simulator (F.A.T.S.).
• The main object of setting up this institution was to impart basic training to the candidates for appointment as Police Sub Inspectors and Dy. Supdt. of Police.
• As per the recommendations of Police Commission, various developments have taken place to improve the infrastructure and to upgrade the status of the head of the institution and faculty members. The post of the Principal, Police Training College was elevated to the rank of Dy. Inspector General of Police in the year 1974. Thereafter again the post of the Director Deputy Inspector General of Police was elevated to the rank of Spl. Inspector General of Police in the year 1993.
• Apart from providing induction training to the directly recruited Dy. Supdt. of Police, the Academy also gives familiarization training to I.P.S. Officers on joining the state cadre. The Academy also provides facilities for training to the Dy. Ss.P. & P.S.Is. of Goa State on request.
• Before the establishment of the Central Police Training College at Mt. Abu in September 1948, the officers of the Indian Police borne on the strength of Bombay Province (which included areas of Gujarat, Sindh Pakistan and parts of present day Karnataka) were also trained on joining the service at P.T.S., at Nashik. Since Gujarat was a part of the erstwhile Bombay State till creation of separate State of Gujarat and Maharashtra in 1961 many senior officers of that cadre too were trained in this Academy. Officers of Goa, Pondicherry and Dadra & Nagar Haveli have also been trained from time to time at this institution. Thus M.P.A. has been the alma mater of several officers of different ranks who have gone on to serve various parts of the country with distinction.
• The Maharashtra Police Academy is a pioneer training institution, which has completed 100 glorious years of its formation, producing tough and efficient officers trained in this Academy have performed exceedingly well in upholding the law and order and serving the people, thereby contributing a great deal to our society.

• In the long and glorious history of the Indian Army, Army Post Offices have played a pivotal role in maintaining the morale of the troops. Being a part of the national postal system, Field Post Offices have served as a connecting link between the troops placed in far-flung locations guarding the frontiers and their families back home.
• The Field Post Offices accompanying the Expeditionary Forces abroad were called as Field Forces Post Offices (FFPOs). The first Field Force Post Office came into operation during 1856 to accompany the British Expeditionary Forces to Persia. This FPO functioned at Bushire from 12 December 1856 to 2 October 1857. The second FPO functioned at Mohamasa (present Khorramshahi) from 24 March 1857 to 16 May 1857 and third FFPO at Kharaj from August 57 to 4 February 1958.
• Thus we find that the history of the Field Post Offices commences and grows steadily to assume greater responsibility later. Initially some officials of the Department of Posts were made to work under the control of Army Officers but later Chief Superintendent of Post Offices of the Department of Posts started controlling the postal operations. Volunteering for Field Service became an all India affair from the Afghan war onwards.
• Field Post Offices initially provided all major postal facilities except payment of money orders and Indian Postal Orders. Gradually FPOs became an integral part of the Army and are set up, worked, controlled and closed under the orders of the Army’s own postal organisation, the Army Postal Service (APS). Raised as a war time postal organisation till World War II, the Jammu and Kashmir operations in 1947 had brought in the need and necessity to have it as a permanent organisation of the Indian Army. Initially the Army Postal Service, which controls the Field Post Offices, was affiliated to Army service Corps till it became a separate entity on 1 March 1972.
• The most important contribution of the Field Post Office in the life of a soldier is that it keeps up his morale, whether he is in dizzy height Himalayas, dense forest of the North East, the scorching deserts of Western India, or the counter-insurgency led mine-field environment. The postal facility is not only extended to the Army but also to the Air Force, Border Road Organisations, Rashtriya Rifles and other Para Military Forces like Assam Rifles, BSF and CRPF. Besides this, the Field Post Office facility has been, of late, extended to Army units on peacetime locations also. The recent introduction of PIN code for Army units with ‘9’ as the first index number enables the Army mail move with the soldier wherever he moves with a unit. Unlike in the civilian postal service, the soldier need not change his address when he moves from one place to another nor does he need to reveal his location in his address.
• The Field Post Offices are fully mobile and equipped to function in tents, trucks, bunkers, and even in open air as befits their Army role. However, in the changing IT environment FPOs are also functioning in well-built, well-equipped accommodation. With the provision of computers in every FPO, the counter operations have been automated to give fast and hassle free services to the customers. In its 150^th year, the FPO is marching ahead to extend all the postal facilities and premium services to their clientele. The FPOs have made a giant leap forward in their mission to serve the soldiers with zeal and dedication both in peace and war for the last 150 years of its existence.

• Prabodh Chandra was a great freedom fighter and a visionary leader.
• Born at Rawalpindi (now in Pakistan) on 24^th October 1911, to Satya Dev, Headmaster of a Government High School and Durga Devi, he did his matriculation from the Government High School, Gujarat in 1927 and his Intermediate as a private candidate in 1930 before completing his graduation and Post Graduation from the F.C. College, Lahore (now in Pakistan). An admirer of Subhash Chandra Bose, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and the Zutshi sisters, he was also influenced with the lives of Shivaji and Garibaldi. He started his political career at the age of 16 and formed the Multan Student Union in 1927. He was closely associated with the Lahore Revolutionary Party and was arrested in connection with the Multan Bomb case in 1929. He was first jailed in 1930 and 1936, and again from 1942 to 1945. He laid the foundations of the students’ movement in Punjab, and was Chairman of the All-India Students’ Conference in 1936. He was also selected as the sole representative of the Indian students to the World Youth Congress in Budapest in 1938 which he could not attend.
• Later on he joined the Indian National Congress and was a member of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.
• He was elected a Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1946. After independence, he remained Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1952, 1960 and 1962.
• He held the august office of the Speaker, Punjab Legislative Assembly from March 1962 to March 1964. He served as a Minister of Education, Health and local Self Government in the Council of Ministers of Punjab. He was also a Member of Parliament from 1971 to 1977. He was associated with numerous public and Government bodies in his lifetime.
• A man of the masses, Prabodh Chandra always strove for the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. He emphasized on social equality. He was the supporter of cottage industries, although he was not against the heavy industries either.
• He was also an accomplished writer and editor of an English Monthly ‘The Students’ Tribune’ at Lahore in 1936. He also contributed articles to the ‘Contemporary India’, a quarterly journal: ‘Student’s Movement in India’ (1939), ‘Sixty Year of Congress’ (1946) were his popular publications.
• He died on 8^th February 1986.

• Born on 17^th August, 1934 at Thirukkuvalai (Thanjavur District in Tamil Nadu) to Thiru. Shunmugasundram and Tmt. Shunmuga Sundari, Thiru. MURASOLI MARAN did his Post Graduation at Pachayappa‘s College, Chennai. He rose from a humble beginning to become one of the pillars of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party.
• Maran was a writer of repute in Tamil. He authored books on politics and short story collections in Tamil. His book on State Autonomy (Manila Suyatchi) in February 1974 was a reputed research work on Centre-State relations and his other research work on the history of the Dravidian Movement in the year 1991 was titled Dravida Iyakka Varalaru, Vol. 1. He was founder-member of the Madras Press Club from 1970-78 and was its President in 1978. He published a number of Tamil weeklies viz. Kungamam, Mutharam and Vannathirai. He also published an English Daily, ‘Rising Sun‘. He was arrested in 1965 during the anti-Hindi agitations for his articles; he was detained under MISA for one year during Emergency.
• A multi-faceted person, Maran excelled in films and journalism as well. He scripted 20 Tamil films, directed two and produced five. In 1956, his film ‘Kula Deivam‘ got President’s Certificate of Merit as the best feature film (Regional). The Tamilnadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram conferred the title ‘Kalai Mamani‘ in 1975 for his contribution to screen-play and dialogue writing. In 1956 his film ‘Annayin Aanai‘ got President’s Certificate of Merit as the second best feature film (Regional). His film ‘Engal Thangam‘ got Tamil Nadu Government’s award in the year 1970 as the second best feature film of the year.
• Maran participated in various committees of Indian Parliament namely (i) Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Rajya Sabha, 1988-89 (ii) Committee on Public Undertakings for three terms, (iii) Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 1982-83 and 1987-88, (iv) General Purposes Committee, Rajya Sabha, 1980-82, 1991-92 and 1994-95 (v) Committee on Public Accounts, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1993-94 and 1994-95 (vi) Joint Parliamentary Committee to enquire into irregularities in the Securities and Banking Transactions, 1992 and (vii) Committee on Home Affairs. He was a delegate to the Commonwealth Parliamentarians’ Conference, London in 1989. He was a Union Minister in the cabinet of Shri V.P. Singh, Shri I.K. Gujral, Shri Deve Gowda and Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
• As a DMK party ideologue, he was essentially committed to the welfare of the Backward Classes and as an articulate person, he never hesitated to speak his mind. Thiru. Maran played an important role in the dynamics of the DMK in Tamil Nadu and national politics. He was the architect of political alliances in New Delhi. He foresaw, quite early, the shift towards multi-party coalitions from confrontational politics.
• He was continuously elected to the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for 36 years from 1967. He commanded respect in New Delhi as a Member of Parliament and built up a formidable reputation as the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry through his ably demonstrated administrative acumen. He was the Chief negotiator of India in the Seattle and Doha Ministerial Conferences of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
• Despite his pro-reforms tag, Thiru. Maran did not hesitate to take on the developed countries at Doha to defend the rights of the developing countries under the WTO.
• Ultimately some of India‘s views were accommodated in the consensus. He articulated India‘s concerns forcefully and he was a constant source of inspiration and guidance at the multilateral trade fora. Maran also won the developing nations more time to conform to the WTO rules on Patents and Foreign Investment.
• His skills as a negotiator were honed during his 36-year career in politics. Maran was instrumental in establishing the Chennai Trade Centre and was the driving force behind the plan to set up a Special Economic Zone at Nanguneri in Southern Tamil Nadu though the project remained a non-starter. He played an important role in the setting up of the TIDEL Park for Software Technology in Chennai.
• Thiru. Maran was affable and had friends in Delhi and elsewhere in the country cutting across party lines. He was widely travelled and led an Indian Parliamentary Delegation to London, Germany and Ireland. He was a Union Minister when he died at the age of 69, on 23.11.2003.
• Thiru. Murasoli Maran is remembered for his words and deeds by his innumerable admirers and the general public across the country.
