Design :
The first stamp was issued on 8.1.1973, announcing the India International Philatelic Exhibition, 1973. The logo which is shown on the stamp depicts symbolically the National Bird, Peacock. (Design by Shri Suminder Singh).

The 20 p. stamp shows in a stylized way all roads leading to Delhi where Indipex-73 is being held. (Design by Shri Suminder Singh).

‘Stamp on stamp’ is the theme of the 1 rupee-stamp. The earlier stamp shown on this stamp is the 1½ anna stamp issued to commemorate the first Independence Day of India. (Designed by Shri A. Ramachandran).

The 2 Rs. stamp has on it the gorgeous Peacock, dancing its magnificent pas seul with superb grace. (Design by Shri A. Ramachandran).
