To mark this year a commemorative postage stamp brought out today on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti depicts the scene of Buddha‘s birth at Lumbini Garden. The earliest sculpture of nativity used as the central theme of the stamp is taken from the famous Maya devi temple at the sacred garden, Lumbini.
