Issued for : To commemorate the total automation of telephones in Japan, a postage stamp was issued. The automation of telephones was set on foot in 1926 from the Kyobashi branch of Tokyo Central Telephone Office and gradually enlarged with final completion of national network on March 14th, 1979.
