- A 50 yen postage stamp commemorating the IXth World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics will be issued on October 25, 1979.
- The Convention is a general meeting of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics consisting of national associations and federations in these branches of medicine. The Convention, which has been held every three years since the First Convention in Geneva, Switzerland, has contributed to the enhancement of physical and psychological health of women, presenting results of research in the two branches of medical science and discussing various problems concerned.
- The IXth Convention will be held, for the first time in Tokyo, from October 25 through 31, 1979, to be attended by 4,500 persons including 2,500 from about 100 countries abroad. The Convention program includes presentation of the results of research, symposiums, lecture meetings, exhibitions, etc.
